Greek Goddess Statue

The Greek goddess Caryatid statue is an architectural sculpture of a female figure used as a column or pillar to support the structure of a building. The word "caryatid" comes from the Greek "karyatides", meaning "of the women of Karyai", an ancient city in the Peloponnese. These statues are particularly famous for their use in classical Greek architecture, particularly in the Erechtheion on the Acropolis of Athens.
