Grip Shift Handle

The rubber coverings of the grip shift handles of my old but trusty bicycle finally gave up. After months of gooey rubber stuff rubbing off on hands I was almost relieved to have the rest fall off almost on its own. Replacement parts for a 20-year-old piece of equipment are of course nowhere to be had, so I had to come up with my own.
Unfortunately the final TPU print came out a tiny bit smaller than the PLA test-prints, but all in all I am quite satisfied. I'm curious to see how well the TPU holds up outdoors and partially in the sun, but obviously it will be some time before I'll have some data on this.
Unless you have the very same old and nameless grip shift model with its rubber covering falling off, this may be of limited use, but on the other hand the OpenSCAD source should lend itself quite well to parameterization, so if you need a replacement part for a grip shift that follows the same design, if not the exact same dimensions, it may be of use to you after all, which is
