When I started to play guitar I wanted the best value for money guitar I could get. This meant searching for a second hand guitar. With second hand guitars you probably have to do some adjustments or maintenance to the guitar. Letting a store do it is expensive and that negates the effect of buying cheap in the first place. So together with the internet (mainly YouTube) I learned myself how to tune, maintain and setup guitars. One of the things I think that is most important is, to have a support for the neck so the headstock doesn’t get damaged on your workbench. Since I have a 3d printer I thought, why not make one. This design was created in less than 5 minutes and it actually works quite well. For some further protection I use a large towel on top of the bench with this underneath so the body and neck do not get scratched from contact with the bench or this support. The support is slightly slanted because thin guitars (i.e. electric guitars) will most likely sit at an angle.
