Hand Plane

The plane was designed some years ago but never taken to production, It has several novel features , namely the removable front to enable cutting right into a corner, and cut depth adjustment that automatically opens the mouth wider for deeper cuts. I always liked the locking feature using a roller against a ramp to prevent the front being pulled off inadvertently, and was really surprised when it worked so well. I built a prototype in aluminium to test the concept and it worked, although it probably would have been better if machined in cast iron.
