The concept of a 3D-printed marble hanger is a perfect marriage of functional engineering and "fidget" satisfaction. Unlike a traditional hook, this design utilizes a captive marble—a sphere trapped within a printed cage—to hold items using gravity and friction. How It Works: The Gravity Wedge At the heart of the hanger is a tapered internal track. When you slide a piece of fabric, like a kitchen towel or a jacket loop, upward into the slot, the marble moves freely. However, as soon as you let go, gravity pulls the marble down into the narrower part of the track. The Grip: The marble wedges the fabric against the back wall of the hanger. The Release: To take your item down, you simply lift it slightly. This pushes the marble back up into the wider "chamber," releasing the pressure and allowing the fabric to slide out. Design and Printing Considerations Creating one of these requires a bit of "print-in-place" magic. Because the marble needs to be trapped inside the plastic housing, you
