"Spool connector" goes in between 2 "spool paint holders" for stacking. I glued mine for more stability but I don't think it is necessary. The holes you drill in the spool will depend on what paints you use. Please note this is made to fit Hatchbox filament spools, I am sure it can be altered to fit other spools.
