Intro - Good to know PLA and PETG were known to be relatively safe to inhale as it is not known to be toxic. However, heating materials to higher temperatures produces ultrafine particles (particulate matter emissions) and volatile organic compounds, which are known to be harmful. If you, your family and your pets are constantly breathing in these concentrations, is not ideal for long-term health. This includes all other plastics, such as ABS, Nylon, TPU and Polycarbonates, to name just a few. There is also a study that looked at particulate matter emissions from 3D printers. All in all, a filter should be used for every print, that captures and neutralizes fine dust and toxic fumes.…For this reason, I designed an additional HEPA filter holder for our beloved Bambu Lab printers, which works constantly, is large enough to eliminate odors quickly. Everyone knows the typical ABS smell, if not from printing, then from the smell of burning plastic. This filter attachment neutralizes this smell
