I use magnetic basing for my wargame miniatures, with steel paper lined trays, and I was bothered that there wasn't a way to magnetise the hollow 'oreo' bases that Wizkids have been using for HeroClix for some years. My newer miniatures were rattling in the box while my old ones, that just needed a magnetic pad slapping on the bottom, stayed put. The internal cavity on those bases is 3mm deep, and while gluing a 6x3mm ND magnet works, it's a nuisance. It's fiddly, it's more powerful a magnet than it needs to be, and the glue tends to break with age leaving orphaned magnets in your box. So this is my answer. These inserts are designed for 5mm x 2mm ND magnets. The magnet just pushes into the centre. If the hole has printed correctly the magnet should hold strongly just by friction fit (if not you may need to adjust slicer settings), but if you want to be certain you can add a small drop of superglue in the well first. A drop of superglue on top of the insert, and
