The Herrnhuter Stern is a typical Christmas decoration found all over Germany. The originals were made out of paper and held together by small pins. This one is a bit different but has the same overall style.
The models are designed to be printed in Vase/Surface mode with continuous extrusion. This makes it printable on almost any machine. I printed them using red Colorfab XT because its a good color and a bit more heat resistant. Heat resistant is good because I used hot glue to hold all the parts together and have a small lightbulb mounted in the middle.
You'll need to print 17 of the larger 4 sided points and 8 of the smaller 3 sided points for a complete Herrnhuter Star. I had no problems printing these and overall print time was about 17 hours.
Note: Printing 17 larger 4 sided points will leave a small opening to place a small light bulb. To fully enclose the star you will need to print 18 total.
