Heuer Compact vice protective jaws

For my vice Compact from the company Heuer I needed a solution to hold sensitive objects. Heuer offers different jaws, partly made of aluminium, partly also of plastic, which can be attached to the vice relatively quickly and easily by means of a magnet. However, these jaws are not very cheap.

So I was inspired by Marius Hornberger and designed my own protective jaws for this vice with the jaw width of 121mm.

The first design has a simple flat support surface for the workpieces. It is supposed to be a piece of rubber, cork or felt glued on, as I did in my case and as you can see in the pictures. I intend to design more jaws that offer different mounting surfaces.

In addition it should be mentioned that the recesses are intended for magnets of the size 10mm x 2mm.
