Hex Slide Box 1

I have been playing with different designs for small containers to hold jewellery or other small items. These are boxes that can be printed on the MPMD so the individual size is small but they are designed to slide together to create larger units.
This is my latest Hex design. The inside shape is not a regular hexagon in order to maximize the interior space. There are different height versions that all fit together.
To test the clearances you can print the 5mm version or just slice a thin section. The clearances are pretty tight so your printer does need to be relatively well calibrated.

I'm not happy with the size of the joints in relation to the size of the container so I will look into creating a different design with smaller joints or increase the size of the inner opening and possibly adjust it to be a regular hexagon.
