This design is a response to a K-5 teachers' request for an instructive number line for use with young children. Because of the limitations of the printer bed, it is hard to print a long number line. So the original idea has evolved into a flexible ruler, which can be used for multiple other purposes beyond basic number sense.

Each piece is 32 mm long, from center to center, with a height of 24mm. Two versions are provided: 12 pieces and 24 pieces.

One can print the whole thing and then color the numbers. Alternatively, one can pause the printer at **24mm plus one or two layers**, and then change the filament to another color.
