This is a 1/16 scale model of a 12 horsepower Fairbanks-Morse Hit and Miss gasoline engine of the early 1900's. The N series were generally stationary powering generators, pumps, saw mills and the like, but on occasion they were mounted on trailersThis one is water cooled from the attached water tank. Smaller engines were often air cooled and had exposed crank cases. This was modeled to be used on a 3/4 inch to the foot Cole Bros Circus stake driver and generator wagon c. 1940.

Hit and miss engines looked a lot like their stream precursors. They are Hit and Miss because they would fire once "hit" turning the large flywheels then "miss" until the flywheels slowed until a governor asked for another "hit." The sound was like a "POP, chug, chug, chug, POP etc"

Looking for feedback. If there are any antique engine folks that can give me a critique of this model, I would appreciate it. Features missed or outright mistakes.
