the bachmann couplers are a lot better than they was 5 or 10 years ago but still have a high failure rate.

Kadee couplers are nice till you lose a side spring then you nead a 8 year old with eagle eyes and steady hand to replace them so while they are more reliable they are a little harder to maintain.

I have ben trying to use parts that are readily available Athearnn was the last ones you could count on being able to purchase but lately every Athearnn part every place is unavailable.

WHY because they are coming from "CHINA" to the USA distributors and they just don't have the common sense to order enough for the people that nead them.
