Plant pots without holes are a good way to kill off your plants! Unless you are specifically growing a bog plant most everything appreciates appropriate drainage.

With this in mind I have deepened the planting pocket quite a bit and added some drainage holes at the bottom. I also created a simple saucer to catch any excess water.
