Holt Station is a heritage railway station located near the market town of Holt in North Norfolk, England. It serves as the western terminus of the North Norfolk Railway (NNR), also known as the “Poppy Line,” which runs for about 5 miles between Holt and Sheringham along a restored section of the former Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway. The original Holt railway station opened in 1884 as part of the line connecting Melton Constable and Cromer, providing both passenger and freight services. It was closed to regular passenger traffic in 1964 during the Beeching cuts, which saw many rural railway lines shut down. The current station, however, is not located on the exact site of the original; it lies about a mile west of the town. It was rebuilt and reopened in 1989 by the volunteers of the North Norfolk Railway, who constructed it in a traditional Great Eastern Railway style using salvaged materials and period architecture to match the heritage aesthetic.
