This pencil holder comes with a top to organize your pencils further. it is important to note that the top ONLY fits regular pencils. The majority of pens and mechanical pencils will not fit through the holes. Also, really make sure your printer is leveled or else it will snap off some of the stalks like what happened to mine.(:
