I wanted to print the two parts of the knife out of different colors, so I used tinker cad to split the model into two separate files, one for the outer piece and one for the inner since I don't have a multi-material printer. This could also be achieved in software by printing the pieces one at a time with a filament change pause in between, but this way allows you to print multiples of each piece on the build plate if you wanted to make more than one at a time.
