Back in the old days, breaking the glass of a light bulb was the end of the bulb. For LED lights like the Hue series (Phillips), the cover is just a diffuser and the LED package is concealed in the bulb base. So when my active (very active) corgi (Winston) decided to take a short-cut through my end table and tripped on the lamp cable, breaking the Hue bulb's cover, I took matters into my own hand (no corgis were harmed by the way). This model is designed to affix (friction fit) to the top of the Hue bulb. PETG was used to give it some heat resistance (thought LED bulbs like the HUE are not very hot). On the final version, I used a single white layer of PETG on the top (the light shines directly UP) to prevent too much light from going vertically out of the lamp, and clear PETG to allow maximum light to spill out the sides of the bulb. You can print this entirely in white or clear. The walls are two layers thick to limit loss of illumination.
