This is a 3D printed humeral brace which is designed to increase effectiveness of the fracture treatment by providing customized solutions as an alternative to conventional solution. The inner and outer part of the brace ensure better air circulation and weight reduction compared to plaster of Paris and local made humeral braces, without compromising the strength of the brace. This product has been developed in collaboration with the Gambian orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kebba S. Marenah.
Humeral brace product use procedures:
Assessment by the qualified surgeon:
Taking measurements of the patient and customizing the 3D design for the particular patient (if necessary)
Manufacturing the braces
Soaking in the hot water and thermoforming around the patient’s arm
Attaching by Velcro straps
Check-ups, assessment and readjusting during the treatment
