I whipped this up quickly last year after a some of the plastic flowers in my hummingbird feeder got too brittle from age, and the petals broke off.
The hummingbirds don't seem to care about the number of petals or how they look. The new flowers have been working well, and if they break, I can just print more. The feeder has both its original flowers and my new flowers, and the birds don't seem to have a preference.
The flowers fit my feeder a bit loosely, not tight. If printing with PLA, I didn't want to make them too tight because PLA is stiff and brittle.
By the way, that particular feeder is the best I've ever had. Easy to clean, 16 ounce capacity. I like that the birds can perch and rest while feeding. The multiple feeding stations are nice, but in practice they're redundant. In my area the hummingbirds are pretty possessive about the feeder. A dogfight ensues if one bird is feeding when another one shows up. The only time I have seen two birds feeding is if they happen t
