Hyperbolischer Zylinder - ist eine Regelfläche, deren Basiskurve eine Hyperbel, und deren Erzeugenden untereinander parallele und zur Ebene der Hyperbel orthogonale Geraden sind.

Hüperboolse silindri saamiseks võtame hüperbooli, millelt omakorda mingi punkti P. Läbi punkti P võtame omakorda sirge, mis on risti valitud hüperbooli tasandiga. Pannes punkti P mööda hüperbooli koos valitud sirgega liikuma saame hüperboolse silindri.
