Hypercube z-carriage bushing adapter

This is an adapter to use 0812 self-lubricating bronze bushings in conjunction with the original z-carriage by Tech2C. Switching the linear bearings for these bushings makes a world of difference in the z-banding/noise caused by the breakaway torque associated with linear bearings.

The next step up would probably be a 3-leadscrew bed setup or linear rails. I wanted to try this first before purchasing any additional hardware and I am very pleased with the results I am getting now together with my other thing, a belt driven bed.

I suggest you try this first before going to a belt driven bed, since it is a very quick and easy print.


To get perfect allignment during installation you can use a bit of hot glue to fill in the gap between my adapter and the z-carriage.
