IDDA Scan Training Tool

Use this tool to improve your scan strategy. When youre learning to use an intra-oral scanner, those first steps of using it can be daunting if you aren’t; - trained properly - supported - follow a scan strategy. Several years ago i therefore designed a Scan Training tool for the International Digital Dental Academy and the communities to be able to use for themselves and their staff to train to scan appropriately. Whilst the IDDA Scan Training tool is based on the most common scan pathway, it should be noted that some manufacturers alter this slightly and you should check what is most appropriate for your scanner. However from my personal experience this method will help. If you follow the occlusal path first then you will most accurately create a full arch scan by tieing together the mesh frames scanned both buccally and palatally.
