IEC320 C14 Switch Removal Tool

I have used several of these IEC320 C14 socket/fuse/switch assemblies in my projects and one thing I found out is: Don't snap the switch into place until you're ready. It's very difficult to remove.

After much too long struggling with the removal task, I made this tool to help me pop these toggle switches out almost as easily as they snap in.

The photos show how to use it: Push the tool in from the back so the legs disengage the locking clips then, if necessary, push the switch out with the little pusher tool.

There are a few different switches and their locking devices tha fit these assemblies - this tool works well on two of the switch types. With another, the fit is a bit tight, but it still works.
