Ikea Alex Gridfinity Tray

DesignThis is a 6x4 gridfinity tray for the IKEA Alex drawer system. The drawer can fit 3 trays, making it easier to slide out individual trays and easily access the back of the drawer.The design was limited to 6 wide instead of 7 in order to avoid the screws on the inside of the drawer.I've included side pockets in an attempt to utilize the space.The bottom is empty intentionally in order to fit a full 12 unit height bins in the shorter drawers. In this configuration, the trays rest on the bottom of the drawer.In the taller drawers, the tray rests on the handles. The tray fits 12 unit height bins and hovers over the bottom of the drawer that can still fit 6 unit height bins.There are small features at the bottom and top of the tray to allow stacking of trays and also stacking of tray on top of gridfinity bins. Added a ‘deep tray’ version that will go to the bottom of the deeper drawers based on request. PrintingThis is a complex model. Supports will be required for the handles at
