Ikea Kallax Spool Storage

Inspired by the Kallax Fillament Racks by CPG I have created a modified version which is suited to hardware available from the popular DIY store Wickes in the UK. The concept is the same, with two dowels suspended between some 3D printed brackets. I have improved the design slightly by raising the dowels above the 3D printed parts so that the full width can be used for Bambu spools (67mm wide). Each square in the Kallax unit is 335mm wide, which is exactly 5 Bambu spools wide. Hardware Used:18mm Dowel from Wickes2.5 x 12mm CSK Woodscrews from Wickes The screws are not wholly necessary but they help to stop the brackets moving around. The dowel is sold as 18mm but in reality comes as 17mm diameter, so the holes in the brackets are 18mm to suit. Assembly is similar to the model I remixed this from, however I have also created an alignment tool to get the front and rear brackets in the right places on both sides of the unit (the tool is reversible for left/right).
