IKEA Svallet light shader Did you buy the Ikea Svallet light and the lamp disrupts your eyes when reading or working?Well, this is the cheapest desk light unit I’ve seen around, so I wouldn’t expect more.But there is a solution to minimise this annoying effect; the 3D printed Svallet light shader! This will stop disrupting you from the annoying lamp hitting your eyes. No more paper covers!! MaterialI printed it in white PLA matte, to match the original unit. Assembly The assembly is a bit tricky, and I spent a lot of time figuring it out. If you follow my instructions, you should have a perfect fit and look, like it was made by Ikea itself! Step 1: Find the centre (center in N. America) Hold the shader as in the picture to align it horizontally, then tilt it forward carefully and put a tape (masking or electrician’s) to mark the centre gutter of the original lamp’s shader. Note that the 3D printed shader has 3 grooves, and one is the centre one (where my finger points). Step 2: Pushing
