Inductive Cooktop Burner Tester

Inductive cooktops are pretty amazing but not entirely intuitive - there aren't flames or orange hot burners to see exactly what's happening. They pulse and we can’t see it but we see the effects. Want to see that pulsing with your own eyes? Here you go….For example, I was trying to see if inductive was for us and bought a pretty nice single inductive burner. Using the tester it was easy to see that the duty cycle frequency was a bit low. The inductive field duty cycle was about 5-6 seconds in period so the pan would go from sitting there to possibly boiling over each cycle. It worked but was a bit unsettling. On the other hand, the cooktop we got has a 3 second update period which is much more analog in effect with more frequent off/on cycles so the pan doesn’t get so hot and heat things so strongly.
