I redesigned the ring and designed the whole enclosure from scratch to be 3D printable.
I tweaked the original code a little for orientation and added animation. (I'm new to design and coding so I am sure everything can be modified a little, but its a great base to work with!)

Hardware Needed:
1 meter, 60 LED WS2812B Individual Addressable RGB LED Strip (I used this one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG49QKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Arduino Nano
DS1302 Real Time Clock Module for Arduino w/Battery
3 10k ohm resistors
