This is the Ingenuity Extruder for the Duet3D smart effector.
https://youtu.be/eI0tD69wD18
It's a direct drive extruder which features a hollow-shaft Nema-14 stepper motor, Bondtech LGX drive gear, an eccentric breach which is self-locking, an idler wheel where the spokes act as a tensioning spring and a hypoid bevel gear pair, archiving a gear ratio of 37:7.
The whole mechanism features only 4 moving parts: two gears, the idler wheel and the breach-lever, and it weights only 229g!
To make one yourself:
- print lowerhalf and upperhalf from FDM or SLS
- print pinion and wheel from abrasion resistant resin (Siraya Tech fast mecha white) or have it SLS printed from IGUS
- print lever and idler from standard resin
You will also need:
3x M3 square nuts and M3x6mm bolt
2x M3x50mm bolt
2x 3mmx18mm precision shaft
1x 3x4mm ball plunger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HJV9FGX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1)
1x hardened drive gear from Bondtech
1x Nema 14 hollow
