I became tired of having to switch between cables to either have data and power or just data when working with small things powered by either USB or external power. Think… an ESP32 or D1 Mini - sometimes I want to have both data and power (initial programming) and sometimes I want to have just data when the board is installed and has it's own power source. I have a few bags of cheap little micro locking SPST switches, so I made a little box that goes around one. Isolate whatever wire you'd like from your cable and now you can toggle it on and off! What I did:Put a dab of CA glue down under the switch and pushed it in placePre-tinned the switch (I did it in the box, you're not going to melt it if you're careful)Stripped away some of the cable's sheathingCut the VCC wire (red in my case) in the middle and pulled it out at each endTaped up the stress wires (just for good measure)Soldered the switch between two segments of the wireClosed it up, I'm done!A dab or two
