TTRPG Dice Print Settings
I've been wanting to create a set of TTRPG dice that could be easily printed on an FDM printer, featuring raised numbers with inset backgrounds. While I found a few existing designs, most used generic fonts like Arial, which didn’t look great. I designed this set in DiceMaker using the New Rocker font.
After reviewing several models, I decided to make my own and have uploaded the complete 3MF file for use in Orca Slicer. The plan is to paint the recessed areas of each die face, then sand away any excess to achieve a clean, high-contrast look. This method works with most filaments but tends to look best with lighter bases—such as white filament with red or black paint, or gold filament with black paint.
Some numbers may sit slightly above the surrounding surface, but after sanding and painting, the finish will be smooth and even.
