This model is what some MAY call a “perfect fit”, in that, it has incredibly tight tolerances. In an effort to keep the design clean, there are no cut-outs for the lock button, volume buttons, or home button. To remedy the issue with a sleep or powered off device, I heated up a sim removal tool and inserted it through the side aligned with the power/lock button. This will give you a clean hole to interface with the iPad using a paper clip or sim removal tool.
