A remix I made of an iPhone tripod adapter. I got rid of the printed hooks for the rubber band to allow for easier prints. Instead, I got 1/2in cup hooks and threaded them into the print with some superglue on the threads. The top and bottom parts have a circle printed into them to indicate the attachment point and buildup some plastic to tap into. I drilled a small pilot hole prior to screwing in the small hooks.
As with the original, pick up a 1/4x20 nut when you get the hooks (total cost for everything from Lowe's was less than $1.50) and glue it into place.
I then used 2 rubber bands doubled over 3 times (may vary depending on rubber band length) and connected them with the help of a hook pick. Rubber bands can be twisted to achieve desired tension.
This is designed for an iPhone 6S with a case on it, but would work for a slightly larger phone as well. Total distance between jaws when fully closed is 72.5mm, with an additional 18mm extension (approximate) usable increas
