My kids love space ships and nothing funner then making space ship toys for them to enjoy. I look for models that are a quick print and sturdy enough for reasonable play. This one is a little longer print than I usually try for, taking 2 hours. But it is very sturdy at the given resolution.
There are many influences on my space ship ideal, but one that stands out is the artist John Berkley. Google image search him to see my inspiration! Foremost, this is a homage to John Berkley's cover for the space encyclopedia "Our Universe". Berkley's spaceship sport a mix of hard and smooth features that make for stunningly elegant techno ships that I have tried to emulate here.
Design took many hours (mostly because I trashed a bunch of early designs because they looked too much like bird heads) and was done in Blender.
The design was made for the details at the resolution you see here in the stl. You can go bigger in your print, but you will not gain any detail. Going smaller is risk
