The Joule Thief flashlight is a quick and easy build that takes just a few hours. It’s a neat little gadget that lets you squeeze out the last bit of juice from those “dead” AA batteries lying around.

The whole idea is to cut down on battery waste and finally make use of that jar full of half-used batteries you’ve been stashing in the basement.
