This is a tiny housing for JST connectors.
It is meant to be filled with silicone, hot glue or another kind of filling material.
When it is filled the contacts are free from force when the connector is pulled or pushed.
It prevents shorts and oxidation. And it is a mechanical guard to the connector.
If you fill it with hot glue we aware that the housing will deform a little bit. But this does nothing to the function.
