Karlsruhe is the third-largest city of the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg, and the former capital of Baden. Karlsruhe is home to important legal institutions, many educational institutions including the university with a focus on technology, and many companies of the high tech industry. Second to the city's absolutist layout in the shape of a folding fan, the Karlsruhe pyramid is one of the major emblems of the city, built over the vault of the city's founder. Both are reflected in the logo of the city. This set of eight coasters features that city logo on one of them, and the coat of arms of 7 districts of the city on the rest. Coaster body and inserts are printed separately, to reduce waste.
