Kitchen Sink Drain Lint Trap

The mesh drain cover we had in our kitchen sink did a great job of stopping the lint draining from our portable washing machine. Problem is it the lint would then collect and stop the flow making the countertop into a beautiful waterfall.

Cheapest solution on amazon costs $15. rrauenza's filter looked like it would do the trick but it looks like it was designed for a slop sink not a kitchen one. I modified their design to fit to my quick measurements of our kitchen sinks standard drain. Not the tightest fit but it should work. Lint will collect around the sides and if the water goes above the trap it can flow into drain without obstruction.

I am trying to avoid making a trip for more filament so this is cut into 3 sections which will not require support that can be super-glued together. Plus its a drain cover. Doesn't need to be pretty/ airtight. As long as I dont have to watch the sink like a hawk while doing laundry (and clean up the floor when i dont) ill be happy. Hopefully
