knuckle joint

This is a pin joint and is used to connect two circular rods subjected to axial loads. Compared to a socket and spigot joint, wherein the axes of both the rods should be in the same plane; in the knuckle joint, one of the rods can be swiveled through some angle about the connecting pin, i.e., the axes of the two rods could be inclined to each other.
