*Note: The first iteration of this design contained a number of design flaws that have been fixed in the current part files, so if you downloaded the originals, you may want to update them to the latest versions.*
This is my take on a direct drive extruder that uses a geared Nema 17 stepper motor. It is loosely based on RoBotniK's Robotruder, but I have made a number of alterations and improvements. Features include:
1) MK7 equivalent drive gear w/ 8mm ID (no need to turn down shaft on a lathe)
2) Compatible with both 1.75mm and 3mm filament
3) Compatible with Gregg's/Wade's mount bolt pattern
4) J-Head compatible
5) Quick release mechanism for lightning fast access to your hot end
6) Retainer clip for 2mm ID x 3mm OD PTFE liners so you can print with 1.75mm PLA or ABS filament using your 3mm hot end
7) Integrated 40mm fan duct to cool J-Head and/or Metal Magma hot ends
