Sometimes the lampshades in the KUMO collection don’t lock firmly onto the base, depending on the filament used or other factors. To solve this, I’ve designed a retaining washer that you insert after installing the lampshade and, optionally, the filter. This washer holds everything securely in place. It has tabs that align with the slots on the base connector and then twist to lock, just like the lampshade itself.The washer is a tight fit, so you should expect to use some force to turn it into position. I’ve also included a tightening tool that fits into the notches on top of the washer, making it easier to apply torque when assembling or disassembling. If you have strong hands, you can probably do without the tool.If you’re using a filter on the lamp, you won’t be able to reach the washer or use the tool comfortably unless you have very small hands.
