Cubes on cubes. Drawn freehand in Gravity Sketch on Oculus Rift. Mesh work, hollowing and supports done in meshmixer.
LEDs is just a strip coiled in though the hole in the bottom. amazon- http://a.co/2CsDftx
update 2/19/2018: added glue on base for LED controls in amazon link. Requires bending pins a bit to get in. Careful as the pins are rather fragile between the solder joints. Mine folded and I had to solder it back in place.
Future additions: supports for different lights. cut for cable to exit base
internal supports may fail if scaling down by large factor.
