Recently I decided that I wanted to recover some desk area.Switching between working from home and working on site often resulted in a habit of slapping the laptop on my desk and plugging in the docking station cable and that's it.I wanted a more elegant solution that takes up less space and also prevents our cats from running over or sleeping on the laptop. So I made a dock supporting laptops up to 3cm thickness (measured of a 15.6" Dell Latitude) to store my laptop upright while docked. The empty space in the middle is to maintain enough airflow to the bottom/hinge side of the laptop. The angled foot design is to create a bit of leverage and to prevent tip-overs.
