Insect Box

Design ConceptMy kids are constantly outside catching insects, their older wooden insect boxes have deteriorated so I designed this box that can be printed to serve the same purpose.PurposeMostly for kids just having fun outdoors catching insects but could also be used by hobbyists to catch larger insects that won't fit through the holes. The box could be modified with a mesh to keep smaller insects in. The current grid holes are 3.5mm in diameter.Printing SuggestionsUse durable and weather-resistant filament like ABS or PETG to ensure the structure holds up well during outdoor activities. Supports should be enabled on the body and the door for best resultsAssembly InstructionsPrint all the necessary parts, the grids should push fit to the body but it is best to glue them in especially if children will be operating the box. The door is push fit but a twist should lock it in place with the seam created by the printer on the door. The handle locks into place.
