Large Vacuum Funnel (SCAD)

I wanted a vacuum funnel setup that was easier to clean than glass frit, accepted random, arbitrary filter media, large enough to hold a decent head of liquid, and I wanted it dirt cheap. This is the nontraditional claptrap I came up with. While I've tried to make the design endure heat, beware trying to use it with hot liquids. That's just what you get when you use printable plastic.

This model uses a slotted sleeve for filter retention. This allows us to use a broader range of filters that are shorter than the funnel height without worrying about the filter getting folded or washed out of place. The full-height sleeve is a lot easier to use than a short ring, and the slots compensate for variable thickness of the filter material while allowing the filter skirt to stay wet. The filter skirt needs to stay wet, otherwise it becomes a vacuum leak.
