Laser Cut Chess Board Template

Made in Illustrator and laser cut on a Universal Laser VLS 2.30

Recommended settings for most birch 1/4" plywood on VLS 2.30
Black: Raster, 100% power, 40% speed, 500 PPI, 0.200"
Red: Vector, 100% power, 2.5% speed, 500 PPI, 0.200"
Blue (not used in this design): Vector, 18% power, 24% speed, 500 PPI, 0.200"

With no major changes to the file and no major deviations from the recommended settings, this takes about 50 minutes to cut on the laser.

The rectangle parts that are stored inside the board with the pieces are meant for standing up captured pieces during a match.

The completed chess board is 7.5" square and 3/4" thick.
