This is my offering for a hull frame of a Portuguese 14th/15th Century Caravel boat from the "Age of Discoveries".
There are 3 life-size replicas of these boats, two `reside´ in Portugal; The Vera Cruz (sailing school ship)in Lisbon and the Bartholomeu Diaz in the Algarve (south) on which you can actually book an outing with the local Tourism Directorate. The third replica belongs to a Museum in Mossel Bay, South-Africa.
The scope of this "Thinggy" is to provide the scratch-builder sail ship enthusiast a "quick & dirty" hull kit on which to perform his/her `magic´upon.
It is a 1/65th sized replica from the linesplans gathered from the published Treatises of the time for improved hull shape precision and size. Multiple pictures and information can be found on-line for reference.
It "requires" 3mm plywood for the basic frames and 5mm plywood for the keel sections and rudder.
