I use 5V 650nm laser diodes, pointed at light sensors, as finish-line timers in my pinewood derby track. These modules hold the diode and help me fine-tune the beam to point directly at the light sensor.

Each module requires:
1x M2 grub screw, to hold the diode in place.
3x M2 hex screws, used to adjust the position of the triangular collet
3x M2 washers, glued to the base, to trap the hex-head M2 screws
3x M2 nuts, captured in the arms of the triangular collet
